With its FlyteFoam midsole, which helps to reduce the shoe’s weight and to maintain cushioning, ASICS enables athletes to have a longer and lighter run. The midsole is now also available in their all-new GEL-Kayano 23 running shoe.
FlyteFoam is 55% lighter than the industry standard (EVA), states the brand, and it contains reinforced fibres that allow the material to bounce back to its original shape after every run. The FlyteFoam technology also offers excellent cushioning, “making it feel like you’re not even touching the ground”.
FlyteFoam was first introduced into its DynaFlyte shoe, “which has been praised for marrying lightweight running with cushioning”.
GEL-Kayano 23 features both the Convergence GEL, for improved shock attenuation and comfort, and FlyteFoam technologies. “This makes the new lightweight innovation in the GEL-Kayano family our greatest adaption yet,” says ASICS.
It also features the Dynamic DuoMax Support System, which is set at an angle to support the foot only when required. The new shape provides superior toe spring and holds the entire foot better with its improved fit.
