Retailers who have not yet experienced a Skechers brand presentation are in for a treat if they go and view more than 1 600 SKUs at the next quarterly range presentation by local distributors Brand Folio LLC. This time, however, the full range will be on display in the company’s new showrooms in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg.
As the vast number of SKUs that will be presented indicate, the brand has an extremely wide footprint – covering all ages, genders, lifestyles and activities. But, in South Africa they will be paying special attention to Skechers Performance ranges.
Over the past few years Skechers’ running shoes have won acceptance by elite athletes who wear them in top races – including the winner of the 2016 Skechers Performance LA Marathon – and elite events like the Olympic Games. The limited edition GOmeb range, first introduced in October 2013, commemorates elite runner Meb Keflezighi’s wins in both the 2009 New York City Marathon and 2014 Boston Marathon – the first American in more than 30 years to achieve this.
The comfortable Skechers GoWalk walking shoe propelled the brand to the #1 sports walking shoe brand in the US – and inspired numerous speed walking athletes in the 2016 Olympic Games.
Seven-time PGA Tour champion Matt Kuchar played an important advisory role in the development of the Skechers GO GOLF range of golf performance footwear, which he wears on course.
The next range presentation will be held in Johannesburg, at the Brand Folio Melrose Arch Show Room at H19B Whiteley Road on October 26th, 27th & 28th. Skechers South African brand manager Yusuf Vadi and account executive Waseem Mayet will be among several Brand Folio LLC staff members to show the range to retail visitors between 9am and 7pm.
