The whole business of cycling will be under the spotlight at the Eurobike Travel Talk 2017 held during the Eurobike trade show. Topics like new product trends, building cycling infrastructure, smart cycling, e-mountain bikes and racing bike tourism – e.g. the tourism impact of the Tour de France start in Düsseldorf – will be discussed in sessions where audience participation will be encouraged.

“The Eurobike Travel Talk brings international representatives of the bicycle business and the tourism industry together and is an important business exchange about current topics of mutual interest,” says Eurobike project leader Dirk Heidrich.

Infrastructure will be the first topic to be discussed by cycle transportation expert Harald Spiering, with reference to the success of the RS1, the fast bike trail in the Ruhr metropolitan area. Graeme McLean will talk about Scottish mountain biking, followed by an intense look at the E-MTB and its impact on tourism. After lunch six companies will answer critical questions from expert Thomas Froitzheim (Naviso) and audience members in the Smart Cycling Business Duel.

The session on The Racing Bike – Successful offers for racing bike tourists will be held simultaneously with a session on Trends around the world, focusing on a project in the Greek Aegean, the bicycle’s potential as a mode of transportation in the Alpine region and current trending topic Micro-adventure.

Cycling publishers will present the results of reader surveys on trends in bike tourism in the Facts and Figures session. This will be followed by two expert tours of the exhibition. Small groups will be led by industry experts focusing on Smart Cycling and E-MTB.

Eurobike Travel Talk will be held on September 1, 2017, during Eurobike (30 August to September 2) in Friedrichshafen. Entrance to the Travel Talk is free to every visitor registered to attend Eurobike. See complete programme.
