Predator 18+ was inspired by adidas’ previous successful Predator soccer boots, but with up-to-date innovation. It forms part of the Skystalker pack, and is designed for the player who “controls the game through a killer touch or defence-splitting pass,” says Sam Handy, VP of Design for adidas Football.
Its PrimeKnit Sockfit collar is designed to naturally expand to the foot’s shape while also providing a supporting fit. The PrimeKnit itself features a layer of Controlskin, for optimal grip, and an anatomical upper that mimics the heel’s shape.
The boot also features adidas’ BOOST technology in the midsole for energy return with every step.
Additionally, the wearer will benefit from adidas’ laceless technology: the Purecut Laceless system ensures maximum surface control while the Forged Knit integrated midfoot support structure creates medial and lateral stability to support complex movements. Controlframe has been updated and features polyamide layers that stabilise movement. The new hybrid stud tip configuration amplifies rotation and traction.
The boot is available in a black, red and gold colourway, and the likes of Paul Pogba, Dele Alli Ivan Rakitic and Mesut Ozil wear it.
Predator 18+ is also available as a caged shoe, which also has the Sockfit collar, Purecut Laceless upper and Control Skin, as well as the BOOST midsole and traction studs.
For the fan who wants to wear Predator off the field, there’s a lifestyle sneaker option as well: it has a knitted upper, the collar, and the BOOST sole.
