Skechers Performance had another successful triathlon run at the Ironman African Champs last weekend (14 April) in the windy city of Port Elizabeth. The brand, which is an official South African Ironman partner, not only introduced its latest performance ranges, but also celebrated good podium finishes by brand ambassadors.

During the three-day pre-race expo athletes and other visitors learnt about the benefits offered by the newly launched GoRun Ride 7 and GoRun 600, as well as other models in Skechers’ extensive Performance range. The latest addition to the popular GoRun Ride series is an ultra-light and well-cushioned running shoe, providing good impact protection, with a breathable knit fabric upper with 3D printed overlays. The GoRun 600 is a well-cushioned, lightweight trainer with a responsive midsole and a breathable mesh upper.

Lucy Charles celebrates her win, wearing the GoMeb Speed 4.

The winner of the woman’s race, Lucy Charles, delivered a great performance in her Skechers Performance GoMeb Speed 4. She finished almost 10 minutes ahead of the second woman.

Ewert Kleynhans, second in the 35-39 age group and the first South African in this age group, delivered another good performance finishing in his Skechers Performance GoRun 5.

South African Skechers ambassador Ewert Kleynhans came second in his age group.

“Amongst the hustle of race day, it was amazing to witness the energy and celebrations,” say the staff members from the local Skechers distributor, Brandfolio SA, who manned the stand. “Skechers Performance is proud of the winners and are now gearing up towards the next race.”

This will be the 70.3 Ironman in Durban on June 3 this year.
